Credits and Usage
How starter credits and Pro billing-cycle quotas are charged and displayed.
Credits and Usage
Brand Peel uses one of two usage modes for AI actions:
- Starter credits for the free trial
- Billing-cycle quotas for an active Pro subscription
The usage card near the bottom of the sidebar shows the mode currently attached to your account, your remaining balance or quota, and an Upgrade button when appropriate.
Starter credits
An eligible registration receives 5 starter credits as a one-time grant. The balance does not refresh.
Starter-credit costs
| AI action | Cost |
|---|---|
| Brand Creator response, document generation, theme generation, or logo-direction generation | 1 credit |
| Design Sandbox generation or revision | 1 credit |
| Nano Banana image at 1K | 1 credit |
| Nano Banana image at 2K | 2 credits |
| Imagen 4 Ultra image at 1K or 2K | 2 credits |
| Nano Banana Pro image at 1K, 2K, or 4K | 3 credits |
Generating a logo image or logo variation uses Nano Banana at 1K and therefore costs 1 credit. Generating the text directions for a logo is a separate 1-credit AI action.
The app displays the cost for the selected Resource Generator model and resolution before generation.
Eligibility
Starter credits are limited to one grant per account and one grant per device:
- An account that has already received its grant cannot receive another one
- A device previously claimed by a different account cannot receive another grant
- Brand Peel must be able to produce valid device proof
If the grant cannot be issued, the sidebar explains whether the machine was already used or device proof could not be verified.
After the balance reaches zero
New AI requests are blocked until the account has an active Pro subscription. Local actions remain available, including reviewing existing projects, editing saved documents and themes, browsing generated assets, and exporting data.
Pro quotas
Pro is billed monthly through Polar. An active subscription receives three independent quota buckets for each billing cycle:
| Bucket | Limit per billing cycle |
|---|---|
| Chat Messages | 500 units |
| Standard Quality | 48 units |
| Best Quality | 24 units |
The cycle starts and ends on the subscription's Polar renewal dates. Unused units do not carry into the next cycle.
What consumes each bucket
- Chat Messages — Brand Creator responses, document and theme generation, logo-direction generation, and Design Sandbox generations or revisions; each action uses 1 unit
- Standard Quality — Nano Banana, Imagen 4 Ultra, and Nano Banana logo generations
- Best Quality — Nano Banana Pro at any supported resolution
Image quotas are measured in units, not simply in files:
| Image model and resolution | Pro quota usage |
|---|---|
| Nano Banana at 1K | 1 Standard Quality unit |
| Nano Banana at 2K | 2 Standard Quality units |
| Imagen 4 Ultra at 1K or 2K | 2 Standard Quality units |
| Nano Banana Pro at 1K, 2K, or 4K | 1 Best Quality unit |
For example, a fresh Standard Quality bucket can produce up to 48 Nano Banana 1K images, but only 24 Nano Banana 2K or Imagen 4 Ultra images.
Using one bucket does not reduce either of the others. The sidebar shows the remaining and total units for all three buckets and the date on which they reset.
Upgrading
Select Upgrade in the sidebar usage card or in a quota warning. Brand Peel opens a secure Polar checkout for the $19 per month Pro subscription. After checkout returns to the app, Brand Peel reconciles the subscription and switches the usage card from starter credits to billing-cycle quotas.
Usage tips
- Use Nano Banana at 1K for drafts and logo variations when you want the lowest usage cost
- Nano Banana at 2K and Imagen 4 Ultra consume two Standard Quality units per image
- Nano Banana Pro always uses the Best Quality bucket, including at 1K and 2K
- Check the sidebar before starting several non-streaming image generations; once submitted, an image request is allowed to finish even if you leave the view
